We Meet Every Kid Where They Are
Good oral health starts earlier than most parents expect. At Greenwood Springs Family Dental Care, we see patients from age one and focus on making every appointment comfortable, age-appropriate, and positive. When kids feel safe at the dentist, they grow into adults who actually show up for their care. Dr. Wargel and Dr. Hani work with children at every stage, from first teeth to teens, with the same no-judgment approach they bring to every patient.

Early Care Builds a Lifetime of Healthy Habits
The dental habits kids develop early stay with them. Regular visits from a young age help us catch problems before they grow, build a foundation of good home care, and make sure your child never feels like the dentist is something to dread.
No Judgment for Kids Either
Kids come in at every level of oral health. Some have never had a cavity. Some have several. We meet every child where they are, explain what we are doing in terms they understand, and never make them feel bad about what we find.

Prevention First, Treatment When Needed
Most of what we do for kids is focused on prevention. Cleanings, fluoride, sealants, and education keep small problems from turning into bigger ones. When treatment is needed, we handle most of it right here in our office.
No Insurance? No Problem.
We offer an exclusive, in-house Dental Savers Plan for our Greenwood Springs patients. How Often Your Child Should See the Dentist
For most kids, every six months is the standard recommendation. That frequency gives us the chance to:
- Catch cavities and developmental issues early, when they are easier to treat
- Monitor the growth and spacing of incoming permanent teeth
- Reinforce good habits at home with age-appropriate guidance
- Build a relationship with your child so dental visits never feel unfamiliar
Some children may benefit from more frequent visits depending on their cavity history or specific developmental needs. We will let you know after the first exam what makes sense for your child.

How We Make Your Child Comfortable
We know that a child's first few dental experiences set the tone for how they feel about dental care for the rest of their life. Here is how we approach that:
- We take a few minutes at the start of every appointment to connect with your child before anything else
- We explain each step in terms kids can understand before we do it
- We never rush through an appointment if a child needs more time
- We check in throughout the visit and adjust if something is not working
- Laughing gas is available for children who need extra help relaxing
- Our children's play area gives kids a place to settle in before heading back
- TVs in every treatment room keep kids comfortable during their visit
If your child has specific fears or has had a difficult experience at the dentist before, let us know when you book. We will plan the visit around them.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if my child needs a specialist?
We handle most pediatric dental needs in-house. When a specialist is the right call, we will refer you to someone we trust and make sure you understand exactly what the next step looks like before you leave.
Do you accept my child's insurance?
We are in-network with most major dental insurance plans. Call us and we will confirm your coverage before the appointment.
What can I do at home to help prevent cavities?
Brush twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste, limit sugary drinks and snacks between meals, and floss once your child's teeth start touching. We will give you specific guidance at every visit based on your child's age and what we observe.
My child has a toothache. Can you see them today?
Call us as soon as possible. We do our best to accommodate same-day appointments for children in pain.
When do kids start needing X-rays?
We take X-rays based on each child's individual needs. Typically we begin taking bitewing X-rays once the back teeth are touching, usually around ages three to four.
How often should my child come in for checkups?
Every six months for most kids. We will let you know after the first visit if more frequent care makes sense for your child.
Do you offer sedation for kids?
We offer laughing gas for children who need help relaxing during treatment. It is safe, fast-acting, and wears off quickly. We will talk through it with you in advance if we think it would help.
My child is scared of the dentist. How do you handle that?
We work at your child's pace. We explain each step before we do it, never rush through an appointment, and always check in to make sure your child feels okay. Tell us about any specific fears when you book and we will plan the visit accordingly.
What happens at a toddler's first visit?
The first visit is low-pressure. We focus on getting your child comfortable, completing a basic exam to check how their teeth are developing, and giving you practical guidance on home care for their age.
When should my child have their first dental visit?
We recommend coming in by age one, or within six months of the first tooth appearing. Early visits help us monitor development and get your child comfortable with dental care before any problems arise.
